Our Puppies
Puppies are the darlings of the Margaux family. Our litters are all whelped in the home in a warm, nurturing environment and are thoughtfully transitioned to clean, enriching spaces that support proper physical, mental, and emotional development. Each puppy is weighed and charted daily, handled, stimulated and cared for with great love. When old enough, people of different ages and voices are invited to visit, giving the puppies a variety of social experiences with their human family. The puppies have their own mini-agility yard to expose them to a variety of surfaces and obstacles. It is complete with ramps, tunnels, bridges, and a variety of odd objects to walk and crawl over. Because the puppy area is located in our home, puppies get accustomed to everyday household sounds such as TV, laundry machines, vacuuming, clinking dishes, adult dogs running by and barking, and general household activity. These exposures during critical developmental times help produce environmentally stable, confident dogs who are well prepared for life beyond our home. By the time a puppy leaves its litter, it is fully wormed, shots are current, ears are cropped, tail is docked, it has been checked by a Board certified cardiologist. It is also micro-chipped for identification.
The best beginnings pave the way for proper development
Each puppy is matched with it's owner based on personality and it's new family's desires. We are always observing each puppy’s confidence, recovery, participation, curiosity, and temperament as they develop. By the time puppies reach seven weeks of age, we have an understanding of who each puppy is as an individual to aid us in our puppy placement. Family homes are matched with puppies who are stable, adaptable and show an appropriate energy level. Performance homes are matched with puppies showing more drive and energy. Breeding/show homes are matched with puppies of exceptional structure, movement and a confident outgoing temperament. We believe this process sets everyone up for success. Margaux Bouviers retains the right of first refusal if a puppy or an adult dog ever needs to leave its original home, but it is our hope that this placement process ensures the first home is forever. To us, it is of the utmost importance that each puppy will be cherished as a member of its family.
We are committed to each puppy for the life of the dog
All puppies sold as companion animals carry a limited registration, since companions are not placed as show/breeding prospects. Should the new owner decide to compete in the conformation ring, the limited registration is reversible to full registration upon evaluation.
Our breeding dogs have all required OFA clearances; pubic reports can be found at www.ofa.org. Many of our Bouviers have multiple titles, and all have been checked for hip and elbow dysplasia, heart irregularities, and eye abnormalities. Margaux Bouviers strives to breed a puppy who is always a credit to the breed, with sound structure, movement and temperament..
